Part of Singapore Blog Awards 2012’s Best Beauty Blog category requirement, finalists were asked to host a spa party with their theme of choice and to be held at select Mary Chia locations in Singapore. We created “Velvet & Roses” – a modern day mafia princess theme to stand out from the typical spa themes. Every element of the party was designed around this bold concept, including the event poster and invitation cards, and party canapés prepared in our kitchen.
Displayed on a beautiful table scape, we came up with theme-related puns for food names, for example: “What The Foie-g” (foie gras on chips), “Hot Chicks” (mini chicken wraps), and “Shuffle My Truffle” (chocolates). Guests were encouraged to attend dressed in black or red, the party’s theme colors. The venue was decorated with fresh floral centerpieces I made and balloons.
During the party, guests enjoyed a free makeover, mini massage session and a photoshoot. We also sourced a photographer and videographer to document this event. Goodie bags containing beauty product samples, Mary Chia service vouchers, and fresh red roses were distributed to the guests after the party.
